Music, Heritage, Appalachian Culture
Since 1950, the WV State Folk Festival has focused on old-time music, traditional square dancing under the stars, and Appalachian arts and crafts. The festival always begins on the 3rd Thursday in June. Don't miss the parade with the antique cars and the Folk Festival Belles on Saturday. Oral tradition tent, old-time gospel sing, children's activities, quilt show, Appalachian arts and crafts, jam sessions on the streets, music concerts and workshops, plus banjo and fiddle contests are just a few of the festival activities.

Visit the Country Store Museum which is the heart of the festival. The festival opens on Thursday and runs through Sunday morning. The festival closes on Sunday morning with a service and singing at the historic Job's Temple.
